He is fresh, he is extraordinary and he is good, very good. Ladies and gentlemen, introducing one
the newest acts in the local Gospel scene, Am A Son. An artiste, artist and poet, his is a world of art which he has embraced, nurtured and altered to bring a whole new meaning to the way it’s done.
Known for the hit Testimony, Am A Son is a grateful man - in fact, the
song is a testimony of what he went through before accepting Christ, and the changes Christ has made into his life now that he’s a new believer. Born 22years
ago, he has seen and lived it all, growing in Eastland’s at a place known as Huruma. Raised in a family of four brothers and three sisters, his ride to the top of the charts
has been quite eventful.
Although he started tinkering with music while still in high school, it wasn’t until much later that he
paid it any considerable attention. As one of the fans of other well known artists, he never thought
he would become a rapper, only seeing himself as a fan as far as music was concerned. That was to
change after he went for a concert and after seeing one of his best rapper performing he got inspired that he could rap and that was when he started showcasing his talent.
That was the beginning of the rap journey
And what about his name, why Am A Son? Well, First, Am A Son is a very unique name and the most used name in the Bible. It simply means am a son of God, derived from the book of Galatians 3:26
His other collaborations include Who Knows with Hey-Z as well as Amani alongside notable artists like Pilipili, Abbi, Nyota Ndogo, Amani and Christine Apondi.
The song was aimed at uniting the different ethnic communities in the country (Kenya)
After the post election crisis in 2007.
